Conventions

Following is a list of SF, Fantasy, Horror, Mystery and Comic conventions that we know of and occasionally attend as guests or for fun in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. January

North Texas Comic Book Show

  • North Texas Comic Book Shows produces a quarterly Dallas comic book show (January, April, July, and October/November) that is a throwback to the early days of comic conventions. Our comic con in Dallas is a great way to meet national comic book artists on a more intimate level. If you collect comic books, or are a comic enthusiast, then you will love the large selection of comic books at every event.

ConDFW

  • ConDFW is a literary science fiction and fantasy convention featuring writing/publishing based programming, science programming, an excellent collection of guests, art show, a charity book swap and auction, and a slew of non-traditional activities such as the Sci-Fi Spelling Bee.

Dallas Comic Con: Fan Expo

  • FAN EXPO Dallas™ is the largest comics, sci-fi, horror, anime, and gaming event in Texas, quickly growing into one of the largest events in North America. It is packed with exciting family-friendly activities and celebrity guests! The pop culture extravaganza is host to tens of thousands of fans at the Dallas Convention Center for the three-day event every Spring.

All-Con

  • All-Con welcomes many genre-based fan groups each year. Some exhibit to grow their group, some present content, and some just show up to enjoy and participate at the convention. Costumers, from the hard core to the whimsical, are present en masse all day each day. The literary, filmmaking, podcasting, and social media interests are well represented as is the general public. All-Con’s formula for success is to provide content targeted to existing fan cultures while also maintaining a selection broad enough for general walk-in public appeal.

Texas Frightmare Weekend

  • Texas Frightmare Weekend is presented in association with FANGORIA Magazine. The event takes place annually in the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex. True to its motto, “The Southwest’s Premier Horror Convention”, our goal is to provide fans with an unrivaled experience by celebrating all aspects of genre films. Texas Frightmare Weekend hosts celebrity appearances, autograph signings, screenings, exclusive parties and horror memorabilia vendors from all over the country. The event is also extremely proud to have featured the rising talents of many Texas “Frightmakers” in screenings, panel discussions and Q & A’s.

AnimeFest

  • AnimeFest celebrates animation, cinema, art, music, games, crafting, costume design, dance, and other forms of traditional and popular culture and art. As its name suggests, it is largely centered on “anime” or Japanese animation. In addition to the large annual event, they also hold smaller events throughout the year at their office and attend many other similar events across the country.

FenCon

  • FenCon is a Fan-Operated Science Fiction and Fantasy Literary and Filk Convention in the Dallas/Fort Worth Area. FenCon has grown from a purely literary and filk event to one that also celebrates art, science, gaming, costuming, and maker activities. Visit their Events page for info on the Art Show, Costume Contest, Dealers Room, Short Story Contest, the Young Author Contest, and the Writers Workshop.

Dallas Comic Con: Fan Days

  • Dallas Fan Days™ is a twice annual comics, sci-fi, horror, anime, and gaming event in Texas. It is packed with exciting family-friendly activities, celebrity & comic guests, and much more! The pop culture extravaganza is host to tens of thousands of fans at the Irving Convention Center for the two or three-day event every Spring and Fall.

Bouchercon: World Mystery Convention 2019

  • The World Mystery Convention is a nonprofit, all-volunteer organization which holds an annual convention in honor of Anthony Boucher, the distinguished mystery fiction critic, editor and author. Bouchercon is our annual world mystery convention where every year readers, writers, publishers, editors, agents, booksellers and other lovers of crime fiction gather for a 4-day weekend of education, entertainment, and fun!
